Who is Kailyn Travels?
Hi! I’m Kailyn, the traveler behind this blog.
I’m an Indiana native and a 2017 graduate of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. After college I moved to Chicago, where I worked as a CPA for a large food company.
I fell in love with international travel when I visited France and Spain in 2013 after I graduated from high school. Between 2013 and 2022, I traveled back to Europe 3 times, visited Mexico and Canada several times, and took an amazing 2 week vacation in Thailand. I’d also nearly perfected the long weekend domestic travel experience!
However, long term travel had been a dream of mine for years ever since I started reading other travel blogs. It’s hard to believe I finally made my dream a reality in 2022 when I quit my accounting job to travel for an entire year! During my year off I visited 24 countries, 10 states, and had the time of my life. I’m now back living in Indiana and returning to taking shorter trips.
I started this blog in the summer of 2019 but put in on the back burner in 2020 and 2021. While I still feel like a novice blogger, I have enjoyed learning how to use WordPress during my year of travels and plan to continue updating my blog in 2024 and beyond. I was also inspired by my cousin, who started his own blog about a year before I did, so go check that out!
Thanks for reading & Happy Travels!
